I have known Misha for more than 30 years. His dedication to the Art and Spirit of homeopathy is manifest through his wonderful teachings and collaborations on both sides of the Atlantic. The School is renowned for its excellence in homeopathic learning the world over and I have always recommended it unreservedly to those interested in studying homeopathy. The program is rigorous enough to plant solid foundations of homeopathic thinking. At the same time this School is committed to attending to the spirit of students in order to help them become fine healers in the art of homeopathy. As a Patron I look forward to collaborating with the School to enhance our shared vision.
About Miranda Castro
Miranda Castro is a British-trained professional homeopath who has been in practice since 1983 and writing and teaching about homeopathy since 1988. She is a Fellow of the Society of Homeopaths (UK) and past President of the North American Society of Homeopaths.
She has a special love of homeopathy, having used it her whole life. Miranda came to classical homeopathy when her son was a year old and suffering from whooping cough. Thankfully, after four false (homeopathic) starts, she found a classical homeopath who was able to cure Daniel by focusing on his whole picture (including the miasmatic influences) and not his physical symptoms alone.
Miranda has a background in acupuncture, iridology, healing, supervision and humanistic psychotherapy. She has been teaching and talking about homeopathy to the lay public and interested health care professionals since 1988, including groups of midwives, nurses, counsellors, doctors – and homeopaths.
Miranda is a prolific writer with a reputation for being able to discuss both complex and sensitive issues in an approachable, interesting and informative style. She has published three books, is a regular contributor to both professional homeopathic journals and popular publications dealing with complementary health matters and homeopathy.
On the basis of her writing and teaching Miranda is frequently invited to teach at schools and present papers at conferences, both in the UK and the USA. She is a provocative and entertaining speaker with a specialty on ethics, practice management and practitioner development.
In 1994 Miranda moved from the beautiful but cold, wet and windy Pennines (in the North of England) to Santa Fe, New Mexico where she finished writing her book on Stress and Homeopathy - in the sun. She decided to stay in the US and in 1995 moved to Seattle, Washington where she taught homeopathy at Bastyr Naturopathic University.
From 2000 until 2002 Miranda worked with Kent Homeopathic Associates, creators of MacRepertory and ReferenceWorks bringing her sales, marketing and teaching skills to the world's premier homeopathic software company. In 2002 she moved to South Florida where she was active in the Florida Health Freedom movement. Since 1995 she has consulted on, and written for Homeopathy Today (the magazine of the National Center for Homeopathy). In 2007 she moved to Gainesville (Florida) where she is practicing, writing, teaching, creating healing creams, developing an office and practice management software program for homeopaths … and planting an edible, sub-tropical garden.
