Saturday 13th Sept · Bill Rumble

There are 2 parts to every symptom; the part that feels the pain and the part that gives the pain. We tend to think of the vital force as a single process whose purpose is to maintain the living organism in harmonious function. Imagining vital force as a multi channel information system can be useful to us as Homeopaths. We can understand the part that feels the pain as the “Known World” but the part that gives the pain is an Unknown (Shadow) part of the multi channel system whose goal is transformation. It is our job to become an assistant to this process.

Homeopathy is essentially energy medicine and the energetic background to what we call reality is mysterious. It may be futile to attempt to understand the meaning of any individual disease and the desire to characterise and classify disease processes can lead to speculation.

Energetic processes inevitably urge towards expression. Our identification with the known part of ourselves; our personality, identity, emotions, wounds etc may marginalise or block signals from the deeper parts of our energetic being. This leads to discomfort and even disease. Our role is to align ourselves with this deeper process and become an intermediary between the known world of the patient and the mysterious source of their suffering.

In this workshop we will explore ways that we can become an assistant to the unknown world, the disease generator, in its desire for expression and transformation..

We will be working with  philosophy, case examples and group interaction. I’m looking forward to seeing you. Bill

Sunday 14th Sept · Luke Norland

Shadow Homeopathy is an intriguing topic, and one that is very relevant today. I will like to share my experience of working with complex behaviours in children and teenagers, where there are often divergent ways of processing sensory information, leading to states of extreme dysregulation which springs from the shadow realm. Older generations of people have been more strongly conditioned to repress their shadow sides, whereas the young people of today are really working through theirs.

I will talk about the themes of Lilith and Priapus from Greek mythology, relating those myths to miasmatic expression in children. We will talk about the Underworld realm, the Water element of the I Ching, which carries the themes of the Abysmal, Oppression and Conflict. We will look at the proving states, delusions and dreams of remedies which often reveal the shadow side. Another important element to consider is the idea of decompensation - this is often where the repressed shadow side comes out most strongly.

This will be a day of deep discussion and sharing experiences. Hope to see you there. Luke
