Bio

I have been in practice since 1993 after completing a four year training at the School of Homeopathy in Devon followed by two years post-graduate study at the Dynamis School for Advanced Homeopathic Studies. .

Now in my third decade of practice, I have treated thousands of people for a variety of ailments including: eczema, asthma, arthritis, migraines, ME/chronic fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression, allergies, irritable bowel, PMT, ADHD/ADD, sleep problems...

I am still learning through a variety of teachers, and I myself teach and supervise students at the School of Homeopathy in Stroud. I am a fully registered member with the Society of Homeopaths which is the main governing body for homeopaths in this country. This means that I abide by the Society's Code of Ethics and Practice, and am fully licensed and hold professional insurance.

My approach begins with the recognition that a person becomes ill as a mal-adaption to stress. We are not just entities in our own right, but are interconnected with each other, and with our environment, and so we are affected by and have to adapt to extraneous circumstances. This, alongside our individual susceptibility, is what leads to 'dis-ease'.
The homeopathic consultation involves a dialogue between homeopath and patient, its goal being to reveal what it is that needs to be cured - on all levels - body and mind. From the homeopathic perspective the mind and body are intimately connected, and so the way that we think and feel will often be linked to physical illness.

The initial consultation lasts 1-2 hours. You will be invited to tell your 'story' and will be asked about many aspects of your life, including past medical history, sleep pattern, diet, personality traits, relationships, and anything else that may be relevant. Naturally the consultation is entirely confidential.
Once your case has been carefully considered you will be prescribed a homeopathic medicine in the form of tablets or drops.

Follow-up appointments are usually spaced between 2-6 weeks apart, the gap between appointments becomes longer as you improve.

Long standing chronic, or deep seated conditions will take longer to improve than more recent superficial conditions. In most cases you will know if the treatment is going in the right direction within a few weeks. In some cases there is improvement within hours or days of starting treatment. Your homeopath will be able to to give you a better idea of what you can expect to happen after your first consultation when he has assessed your individual case history.

In most cases homeopathy can work through prescribed drugs. If you want to come off drugs prescribed by your GP then, in some cases, homeopathy can support you to do that, although you would need to seek advice from your GP or the health professional who originally presc

The School's Founder and course leader, Misha Norland is a Fellow and a founding member of The Society of Homeopaths and was the first editor of its journal.

Education

A practitioner now for over 30 years, he was Head of Homeopathic Research at the first UK homeopathic college. Widely respected for his teaching and practice skills, he provides numerous lectures and over the years has taught many of the world's leading homeopaths. He is also an international clinical facilitator, lecturer and author, and is well known for his contributions to journals, conferences and new materia medica. In addition to running the School in the UK, he teaches and is the principal clinical teacher for the School's International Study programme. Misha loves to blend old and new ideas, and to weave information together in a noteworthy and memorable way.
