We launched our International programme back in 1987, over 25 years ago, and enrolled our first Japanese homeopathy student in 1997, over 15 years ago! We’ve come a long way and now have students in over 80 countries. Our Japanese distance learning course in Homeopathy provides a full UK training in homeopathy for Japanese students with a reasonable ability to communicate in English. The homeopathy course is written in English and comes with English audio and audio visual lectures, the course is specifically designed so you can work at your own pace. The homeopathy course combines the flexibility of home study with the rigorous training needed to become a successful homeopathic practitioner. That’s because students can blend in-depth independent work with hands on, face-to-face training through Summer Schools and a clinical supervision process.
We also have a licence partner in Japan that offers a Japanese version of the course. Please visit their website and contact them for full details about this:
Our flexible approach means that you can begin your study with the program at anytime, choose when and where you study, and to what level. You can even ‘port’ the course from one country to another; and you have an open invitation to attend classes and clinics at our home base in England. All this adds up to making our course the most in-depth and flexible program available. Read on and see why so many have trained with us.
Our programme progresses through four levels (see the courses section of the site for more detail). For those that wish to practice homeopathy we offer our highest certification, the Homeopathy Practitioner Advanced Diploma PDHom (Adv), this course consists of:
Time: 4 Year period (flexible)
Study: Homeopathy Units 1 – 26
Audio recording: 99 CD’s, 176 lectures
Audio visual recording: 211 DVD lectures
Clinical Observation & Practice: 2 x 7 Day UK Summer Schools (100 hours)
Clinical Supervision: 10 cases with 2 follow-ups each
Medical Science: Anatomy & Physiology and Pathology & Disease
Each year of the course is divided into easy to manage Units, which you study whilst listening to the audio and movie lectures from the School and reading the specially selected books. The recordings bring the best of the classroom teachings to you at home. You get numerous recordings of patient cases with discussions as well as generous amounts of supporting information, examples of student work and model answers. During the course you are guided through the topics by reference to books and supporting explanations, descriptions, and diagrams. You are able to check your progress and reinforce your learning through self-assessment questions and model answers. At the end of each Unit you write up your assessments and then send them off to your personal tutor. All our tutors are highly skilled mentors and are used to working with students from across the world. They are also all professional homeopaths and almost all of them studied with us at the School of Homeopathy.
Each course is accompanied by a book list that is essential reading for your study. We offer these books with a discount through The School of Health.
Clinical Observation & Practice
You will automatically gain 250 clinical hours throughout your coursework using our integrated movie cases. An additional 100 hours need to be gained through face-to-face events and you are required to attend at least one 7-day UK summer school throughout your training:
SOH 7-day UK clinical workshop = 50 hours (ideally attended year 2-3)
SOH 7-day UK clinical workshop = 50 hours (ideally attended year 3-4)
Year One UK students are expected to attend our 2-day UK summer school during year one (or year two if necessary) - and all students able to come are welcome!
You should take one (ideally two or more) 7-day summer schools with us, which ensures that you receive the high standard of training that is needed as part of our programme. These events are hugely motivating and beneficial to study and we see students take leaps forwards following an event. However, if you can only attend one of these, you can gain the remaining 50 hours by either:
Sitting in with a local homeopath:
This would be our preferred alternative as you would receive in-depth and focused clinical experience with someone who is (hopefully) working in a similar way to our teachings and you will have lots of attention. Clinic hours are recorded by receiving attendance certificates/letters.
Or attending other non-SOH local events:
If you do decide to gain the last 50 hours elsewhere, please make sure that the alternative event(s) are at the same standard as the School’s events. These sessions can take the form of clinics, study groups, seminars, workshops, supervised case taking and supervision. The main focus of these sessions is to be on case taking, case analysis, prescribing and case management. Please always ask for a certificate of attendance as you need to send us a copy of this for your records.
Our supervision network program means that we take students right through to clinical practice. International students can work with one of our professionally trained supervisors in the UK, or you can submit an application to work with someone you choose locally. If you cannot find a suitable local supervisor, then you may contact someone in our network of specially trained distance supervisors, and communicate via email and telephone. We work with you to find the best solution for your individual needs.

Homeopathy Practitioner Advanced Diploma PDHom (Adv)
The big cheese is due, having met all the above criteria.
Our Japanese Programme is similar to our UK Programme. Since the School of Homeopathy is a recognised leader in homeopathic education, the UK diploma, given on completion of our Practitioner Course, leads to immediate registration in the UK. The UK programme is fully accredited by The Society of Homeopaths who are one of British representatives on the European and International Councils for Classical Homeopathy. The Society of Homeopaths was established in 1978 and is the largest organisation representing professional homeopaths in the UK.
It would not be possible for us to seek full accreditation with every governing body across the world but you can be assured that our course meets the rigorous requirements. Where we have the density of students we do seek a process to accreditation, so for example our course has an accredited process in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Portugal. By purchasing our home study course you are assured of receiving a high quality of product, service and care. However students should note that completion of our International programme does not confer a license to practice in your country. Whilst we have a very high reputation, as does the Society of Homeopaths, it is wise to review the official licensure policies of your own country before commencing in practice.

500 million people use homeopathy everyday! Used by 1 in 8 people in the UK, 27 percent of Germans, 40 percent of French and 62 percent of India to name but a few! It is an integral part of the healthcare systems in Germany, France, India, and Brazil. Millions of patients benefit from homeopathy every day.
Target Group Index, Global Survey with 25,000 participants, 2005.
What I love about homeopathy is the satisfaction of the one to one contact with the patients, and the feeling that you're really making a difference to peoples lives.
